IT: Sapete perchè festeggiamo la festa della donna?
Tutto nacque ufficialmente
negli Stati Uniti il 28 febbraio del
1909. A istituirla fu il
Partito Socialista
americano, che in quella data organizzò una grande
manifestazione in favore del diritto delle donne al voto.
Le manifestazioni per il suffragio universale
si unirono presto ad altre rivendicazioni dei diritti femminili.
Tra il novembre 1908 e il febbraio 1909 migliaia di operaie di New
York scioperarono per giorni e giorni per chiedere un
aumento del salario e un miglioramento delle condizioni di
lavoro. Nel 1910 l'VIII Congresso dell'Internazionale
socialista propose per la prima volta di istituire una giornata
dedicata alle donne.
Il 25 marzo del 1911 nella fabbrica Triangle di New York si sviluppò un
incendio e 146 lavoratori (per lo più donne immigrate)
persero la vita. Da quel momento in avanti, le
manifestazioni delle donne si moltiplicarono. In molti Paesi
europei, tra cui Germania, Austria e Svizzera, nacquero delle
giornate dedicate alle donne.
La data dell'
8 marzo entrò per la prima volta
nella storia della Festa della Donna nel 1917, quando in quel
giorno le donne di San Pietroburgo scesero in
piazza per chiedere la fine della guerra, dando così vita
alla «rivoluzione russa di febbraio». Fu questo evento a cui si
ispirarono le delegate della Seconda conferenza internazionale
delle donne comuniste a Mosca quando scelsero l'8 marzo come data
in cui istituire la
Giornata Internazionale
dell'Operaia.
In Italia la Festa della Donna iniziò a essere
celebrata nel 1922 con la stessa connotazione politica e di
rivendicazione sociale. L'iniziativa prese forza nel 1945, quando
l'
Unione Donne in Italia (formata da donne del
Pci, Psi, Partito d'Azione, Sinistra Cristiana e Democrazia del
Lavoro) celebrò la Giornata della Donna nelle zone dell'Italia già
liberate dal fascismo.
L'8 marzo del 1946, per la prima volta, tutta l'Italia ha
ricordato la Festa della Donna ed è stata
scelta la
mimosa, che fiorisce proprio nei primi giorni di marzo,
come simbolo della ricorrenza. Negli anni successivi la Giornata è
diventata occasione e momento simbolico di rivendicazione dei
diritti femminili (dal divorzio alla contraccezione fino alla
legalizzazione dell'aborto) e di difesa delle conquiste delle
donne.
Percui ragazze festeggiamo!perchè non è la festa del consumismo, ma una festa molto importante per la quale molte donne si sono battutte e sono purtroppo anche morte!
Ma non festeggiamola solo oggi, ma tutti giorni! Combattiamo! Per noi, per le donne del nostro presente, per quelle del nostro passato e soprattutto per tutte quelle del nostro futuro!!!

Do you know why we celebrate The International Women's Day?
Everything was officially born in the United States on February 28, 1909. To establish it was the American Socialist Party, that on that date heorganized a big demonstration in favor of women's right to vote.
The demonstrations for universal suffrage were soon joined by other claims of women's rights.
Between
November 1908 and February 1909 thousands of workers went on strike in
New York for days to ask for a wage increase and improvement of working
conditions . In 1910, the Eighth Congress of the Socialist International proposed for the first time to establish a day dedicated to women.On
March 25, 1911 in New York City Triangle Factory developed a fire and
146 workers (mostly immigrant women ) lost their lives. From that moment forward, the events of women multiplied. In many European countries, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland, were born of the days dedicated to women.The
date of March 8 entered for the first time in the history of
International Women's Day in 1917 , when on that day the women of St.
Petersburg took to the streets to demand the end of the war, thus
giving birth to the " Russian revolution in February ." It was this event which inspired the delegates of the Second
International Conference of Communist Women in Moscow when they chose
March 8 as the date on which set up the International Day of women worker .In Italy International Women's Day began to be celebrated in 1922 with the same connotation political and social demands . The
initiative took power in 1945 , when the Union of Italian Women (
formed by women of the Communist Party , Socialist Party, the Action
Party , Left and Christian Democratic Labour ) celebrated the
International Women's Day in the zones of already liberated from fascism
.On
8 March 1946 , for the first time , the whole of Italy recalled Women's
Day and was chosen the mimosa, which flourishes in the very first days
of March, as a symbol of the anniversary . In
subsequent years, the day has become the occasion and symbolic moment
of vindication of women's rights ( from divorce to the legalization of
abortion to contraception ) and defense of the achievements of women.
So girls celebrate! Because there was not the celebration of consumerism, but a very important festival for which too many women have fought and unfortunately, many women have died!
But do not celebrate just today, but every day! We have to fight! For us, for the women of our present, for those of our past and in particulary for all those of our future!
